Good for beginners, some fees

I bought some Ethereum on Luno last month, my first crypto purchase ever. The sign-up process was pretty straightforward, and I found the mobile trading app easy to navigate for a beginner. It was nice to have the crypto learning portal available too, which helped me understand things a bit better. My ETH showed up in my wallet quickly after I bought it. The main downside I noticed was that the trading fees felt a little higher than what I've heard some other platforms charge, especially for smaller amounts. Not a deal-breaker, but something to keep in mind if you're planning frequent trades. Overall, a solid experience for getting started with crypto.

Easy to use, minor verification wait

I decided to try Luno to diversify a small part of my savings, specifically buying some Solana. The initial account setup was clear, and I appreciated the step-by-step guidance. I used the fiat to crypto gateway, depositing funds from my bank, and it went smoothly. The mobile app itself is intuitive; I found it easy to set up a recurring buy for Solana after my first purchase. The digital asset storage feels secure, and I liked that they offer a multi-sig wallet option for more protection. The only slight hiccup was the verification process took a couple of days longer than I expected from some of the FAQs I read, which held up my first trade a bit. Once that was done though, everything else was seamless. The crypto charts were helpful for tracking. Withdrawals also worked as expected when I tested a small amount. Good platform for managing different digital assets.

Bought some Ripple XRP

I used Luno to buy some Ripple XRP last week. It was pretty easy to do, didn't have any trouble getting it set up. The app was simple to figure out. Everything just worked, which is what I wanted. No complaints from me.

How long does it take to actually get verified on Luno? Don't want to wait ages to start buying.

Mine was pretty quick, like a day or two for the basic stuff. Uploaded my ID and proof of address and it went through without a hitch.

Depends, sometimes it can be almost instant if all your documents are clear. I've heard of it taking a few days for some people if there are issues with the ID scan or something like that.

Hey guys, thinking of signing up for Luno. Saw something about free bitcoin for new users. How does that work?

G Gwen L. 2 months ago
Yeah, they usually have a referral bonus. You use someone's code when you sign up, and then after you make your first crypto purchase (there's usually a minimum amount), you both get some free bitcoin.

It's like a sign-up bonus, I got about $20 worth when I joined last year. Make sure you put the code in the 'Rewards' section of the app, that's where it goes.

Is Luno a good choice compared to say, Coinbase or Binance? I'm just starting out.

I've used Luno and Coinbase. Luno feels a bit simpler for beginners, less overwhelming. Coinbase has more coins but Luno's interface is pretty clean.

Luno's pretty solid for just buying and holding Bitcoin or Ethereum. If you're looking for super advanced trading features or a massive selection of altcoins, Binance might have more, but for ease of use, Luno's great.

can you withdraw your money from luno easily or is it a hassle?

F Faith 2 months ago
I've withdrawn a couple of times to my bank account, and it's been pretty smooth. Just link your bank and follow the steps.

No issues at all. Just be aware of any withdrawal fees or minimums they might have, but the process itself is straightforward enough.
